back to blogging...finally!

it's been a little bit crazy these past few months, hence the lack of blogging.  we have been so busy with me back working 3 days a week, oakley in daycare, and filling our weekends with fun activities.  i'm just going to post pictures of january and i'll do february in a different post.

oakley is getting more and more interested in pretend play.  here, he was completing a checkup on one of his "guys."  i love seeing him pretend and use his imagination so much these days!

i really just added this one because i think his little feet are cute :)
playing in the "fort" we built

we have been roasting a lot of marshallows this winter.  it's such a special treat!

backing up a little...here is the day in pictures of when brian worked on my car for like six hours.  oakley was a big helper.  i'm sure brian needed a hole in the flower bed to help him complete the car project. ;)

after getting too cold helping daddy, o came in and worked on his cars/trains...taking them apart and re-assembling them without my help.  he really has a mechanical mind like his daddy!  pretty neat to see it in action.

hide and seek is one of our favorite games, especially when daddy is home to join us.  oakley and i were squished into the little (random) cabinet in our entry.  brian knew where we were and grabbed the camera to take our picture when oakley opened the door.  he never really hides.  by the time we get to ten, he jumps out and says, "ta-da!" or screams "here i am!!!"  we're working on the whole hiding thing. :)

oakley and i took a walk one day and when we were a few minutes from home, he got really quiet.  i turned around and found him asleep.  originally, he was sitting in the back seat of the wagon, but i felt really bad having his head bouncing all over (it was pitiful!), so i slid him down to the floor so he could rest his head on the side.  poor tired boy!

football helmet and tickle monster hands.  nice combo!
we had the priviledge to babysit lawson while mel and matt went on their first date since being parents.  it was so much fun!  of course, he was only awake for about 45 minutes of our time with him, but we enjoyed having him at our house.  oakley was a great helper!

i decided i'm going to finish up the last two weekends of january in another post...sensory day at our church and sesame street live!
