it's official...
i'll just cut to the chase. brian got a job! we are so thrilled and brian feels like he is really going to love his new job. i am so extremely happy for him. it's with children's mercy hospital in kansas city. you heard me...we are moving back to kansas city! we really wanted to make a big change and end up in florida, but now is just not the right time, we decided. maybe someday. but for now, we are so thankful for this position and i know brian is going to grow both personally and professionally with this job. the crazy rollercoaster has come to an end. well, almost...
we have two weeks until we move into a house we are going to rent. we originally wanted to buy, but after spending four long days of househunting (we probably looked at 35 houses), we didn't see anything that screamed, "i'm the one!" we decided to take our time and wait for the perfect home. so, in the mean time, we will rent. i'm excited to have found a house instead of living in an apartment, mainly for the space, garage (which is a must for me, especially in the winter), and yard for beanie and oakley. i think this little place we call home will be good for now. and i can't wait to get into our dream home and stay there for a long time.
i'll back up a little and let you know what we've been doing...with only a few details. otherwise, this would be the longest blog post ever. so, brian had an interview in florida with a company a couple thursdays ago. the company flew him down there and put him through the ringer of interviewing and tests. and more interviewing. all day. seriously, from 9-430 he was there. and then he went back for another interview with a different guy in that company the next day. that same thursday, children's mercy called him for a phone interview. brian was intrigued by the position. the recruiter called brian back the next morning and asked if he could be in kansas city monday morning for an interview at 9am. so. brian got home friday night, we took it easy saturday, then got up early sunday morning and drove to kansas city. his interview (obviously) went perfect and brian was so excited after meeting his (possible) future colleagues. we waited. and waited. and waited for what seemed to be forever. brian got a call last thursday and they told him they were working up an offer. he had one last interview with the vp of hr on friday, then a couple hours later, they presented the offer. brian accepted on monday. we hunted for houses from saturday thru wednesday. then looked at so many rental properties, i lost count. it was an exhausting two weeks, probably more exhausting than the whole three months combined, but we made it! God is so good. and we see the light at the end of the tunnel. i'm excited to be back in kansas city! and yes, this is the "few details" version. :)
next: pictures from our trip to kansas.
