a new chapter

i decided to start a blog, not only to document the big changes in our lives, but to keep our family and friends (who are spread across the country) updated.  so, here we are!  

if we haven't kept you updated (which is very possible), i'm sorry!  things were really busy for a while and happened faster than we were expecting.  here's a little overview of the latest happenings:

brian decided to look for another job after chipotle made some changes.  after talking it over, we thought now was a good time to not only change jobs, but move across the country, too.  seems crazy, i know.  i am over cold weather and brian grew up in florida, where he also has family, so we decided to head south.  we put our house on the market.  it sold.  in 14 days.  whoa.  we were shocked, but feel blessed to have sold it so quickly in this market.  we moved out of our house, and our belongings were whisked off to storage.  we headed south and are currently living with brian's sister and bro-in-law (and our cute nephew, too!).  brian has been looking for a job, had an interview last week, and is expecting another interview with the same company next week.  we are hopeful!  we are thankful to have a place to live during this transition, and hope to have our own place in the next few weeks.

we finally made it to florida!

in the meantime, oakley and i are spending a lot of our time with cousin koa.  i'm watching him while joey and ellen are working.  ellen is almost done teaching, then we get to do fun things with koa and his mommy!

oakley is crazy about the water and asks to go "simming" all the time.  when he plays in the little pool out back, he runs back and forth, bellyflopping at either end.  it's great fun!  we are headed to the beach tomorrow.  i can't wait to see him play in the sand and waves!

i'm really excited to have started this blog, kind of as a journal for our family.  i hope you enjoy reading about our many adventures!
